How to create a dummy database to run untested scripts against

Hello all,

I was hoping that someone could tell me (or point me in the right direction on) how to create a dummy DOORS database to run untested scripts against.

Thanks in advance,

You can create a second database on your server, sibling to your production database. You'll need another pair of Port Numbers and will need a folder location to house the data. Either the Installation or Manage manual has the simple instructions for creating a new DOORS service, IIRC: from a DOS command window: doorsd.exe -ministall option.

If you want the database local on your PC, you'll need to install the DOORS server thereon.

Instead, you can create a Playground folder in your production database and periodically archive your production project and restore a copy in the Playground, and play there. Particularly paraniod folks may want to create a new User that has exlicit 'none' rights to any of the Production projects, and test with that user.
